Hello Fellow Kellogg applicants --
I'm in a situation that I'm not too sure on how best to proceed... I could use your insights/help.
I recently applied in R3 for the 1Y program. I know it is not ideal to apply in R3 but, long story short, it was the best I could do. I ONLY applied to this program because 1) Kellogg is my top choice and 2) the 1Y program is exactly what I hope to do.
I did my undergrad at UT at Austin - McCombs School of Business. Good program so I meet all the 1Y prerequisites. I have a really unique background having studied abroad twice (Asia/Europe), Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, and now worked/lived in China for 2+ years and can speak Mandarin fluently and Thai conversationally. I already had my interview and that went really well.
My problem is this: My GMAT is crap not gonna lie. I scored in the low 600s with decent Q but horrible V scores. Assuming (and who really knows? but humor me for a bit) that I am a strong candidate in all the other factors: work experience, uniqueness, extra curricular activities, Kellogg "fit", etc. -- do you think my ultra-low GMAT score would kill any chance of getting into Kellogg? R3 decision deadline isn't until May 12th and I'm contemplating whether or not I should start studying for the GMAT again to hit something like 670+. Time is obviously tight. Should I contact AdCom and talk with them about this? I honestly feel that my essays were really unique, and that my application is really strong in all aspects except for my GMAT. Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
P.S. Grats Kry and Terry for the admits and scholarships!
