Hey just curious so posting this and would request reply from current Kellogg students so steel, river please give your inputs:
Firstly, what % of people who get interview waivers get an interview invite ? (For instance they give waivers to 1000 people and then send interview invite to approx 100 people. I know its an abstract question but still would welcome your thoughts)
Next, people who receive interview invites after a waiver get an email that states on "On review of your application we would like to interview you" , so how does their evaluation differ from people in United states who just have to schedule an interview ?
I mean how is the decision for people who receive an invite after the waiver given , Is it just on the basis of the interview or its again application essays + interview ?
Hi MBA. This is all fairly black-box stuff with respect to the Kellogg adcom. From what I understand the answer to your question often varies by round and year. There is no strict % of people who get invites. Also, it is unclear for any applicant how much the interview weights in vs. the application as a whole. I would imagine that just like anywhere, the interview is only one component and your admission is based on all components of the application.
I know, not a very helpful answer, but admissions keeps these sorts of things fairly tight to the vest.
