So excited! I submitted on the last day and got an email on 29 Jan saying my application was received/complete. This makes me really happy because frankly my GPA is ~3.0 and I thought that might be a big limiting factor ...

Now the question is, does it reflect poorly on me if I do any off-campus interview as opposed to on-campus? I am currently living in London and don't know if I can make it to New York for an interview given my work schedule. However, I've never been to campus and would like to go ...

To be honest, given my low GPA, I am really banking on the idea that schools will be sold on my unique background ... I like to imagine MBA adcoms are like little kids at the zoo - no one wants to see turtles or deer or birds ... every kid wants to see the tiger or panda or gorilla. I WANT TO BE A GORILLA!

Hehe, yah id agree with the zoo concept.

Anyways, worry not your profile sure caught my attention. As for the adcom, i think the interview call is enough proof.

Nooo! That sucks--I'm so sorry, but at least it wasn't a ding. When do you hear back from Cornell (I'm a blog follower of yours!)?

Thanks LB. I agree...not a yes, but better than a no. Do you think I'm better/worse off than applicants who have been waitlisted without an interview or am I in the same boat as them?
My Cornell application just went under review.

Rd 1 applicant, interview on 1/26, put on waitlist today.

Rd 2 Applicant here.

I submitted my app on 7th Jan.
Got an email with the status link on 11th Jan.
1st Reco submitted on 3rd Jan, and the 2nd on 15th Jan.

My application status page has never changed, and still shows :

"Dear XXXX,

Thank you for applying to the NYU Stern School of Business. We have received your application and it is being presented to the Admissions Committee for review. You will receive initial notification on or before the notification dates indicated below."

Is it the same with others who haven't heard a decision yet from Stern ? When the application goes under review, does the status change ?

It will stay like that until they do one of these 3 outcomes:
1. interview invite
2. waitlist
3. ding

You will get an email saying your status has been updated and then new button will appear below the Update button that says "View Status Letter"
