Very sorry to hear that, man. You've got some good admits already and still waiting on a couple of schools? I hope you end up somewhere that will make you very happy.

For everyone else out there, if it gives you hope, I received an interview invitation this morning. Please check my admit/ding thread post for my profile, if you are curious, and search my previous posts on this thread for my submission date/time. Good luck all!

Congrats to you coakleym! And thanks for sharing your interview invite. As long as people keep getting invited theres hope I feel.

What does the asterisk next to my name in the roll call mean?

You forgot me and Xerion, both accepted on the 10th of March.
I need to see my name in green on at least one roll call page this round!

Sorry guys I don't know what happened...i thought I added you...

idcandy...I had put the * to indicate a different admissions process (i.e. CGSM), but I just specified it instead. Stern's admissions process can be nerve wracking, and I think its best to specify that so people don't start drawing inaccurate conclusions about the admissions process.

CONGRATS TO ALL 3 of you! Stern is a great school.

can anyone provide advice or insight in setting up a self-initiated interview with the admissions committee after being waitlisted?

This is unlikely (I fear saying impossible due to tail events). The way you can try to do that is through the standard approach of providing updates, expressing interest, working to improve any perceived weak spots on your candidacy.

Good luck to all!

Figured I would join the forum with my status. GMAT of 730, 5-6 yrs. work experience. Application submitted on 1/14, invited to interview on 2/23, interviewed on 3/11. Currently munching on antacids and waiting for final word. It will be two weeks this Thursday.

Hey All,

Just got an update from Stern. Waitlisted !

Guess its better than being declined ...

Here's my profile :

Indian \ M
Work Ex : 9 yrs in IT
GPA : 3.0
GMAT : 740 (Q50, V40)
CFA Level 1. Working towards Level 2.
Decent Extra-Curriculars. No Volunteer work.

Now my question is what kinda additional info can i send them, to prop up my application. I have the Level 2 exam in June, but the result wont be out till July end anyways. I don't foresee having any other real change in my profile in the immediate future. Do I just sit tight, or is there anything else that I can do in the meanwhile ?

Yes, I was notified today. I got an email suggesting I check the application status page a couple of hours ago. Submitted 1/15.

Time to consider course of action!

sj0509, did you get waitlisted after an interview? are you notified of your interview in the email itself or are you told to go check your status?

ARIL, thanks for your resposne. Sorry to bother you with these questions but did you get a chance to speak to anyone in admissions regarding what you can do now or the timeline for being notified of an interview if they decide to give you one?

I applied on 1/15 and still havent heard back. As of last week people were still getting a variet of notifications: dings, interview invites and WLs. Does anyone know if NYU sends out the majority of dings on the official April date or is there still a chance to get an interview invite at this point or on April 1?

quantconcern,

According to the waitlist FAQ, the adcom will be reviewing applications from spring all the way through august. I didn't speak to anyone in the adcom, but they said that the waitlisted applicants are encouraged to submit anything that will add a new perspective to the applicant's profile eg. re-taking the GMAT, re-reading your application to see if you can cover any weak-spots, etc.

Well, I am R2 applicant. Submited 1/15. Sent an updated GMAT score 1/27 (i believe they held off on the review until they got the updated score). I still havent heard anything yet either. NYU seems to def take their time.

R2 applicant, heard nothing after 1/15. I guess they take any time upto the deadline to get back.
