Re: Calling all NYU Fall 2010 applicants [#permalink]
quantconcern,

According to the waitlist FAQ, the adcom will be reviewing applications from spring all the way through august. I didn't speak to anyone in the adcom, but they said that the waitlisted applicants are encouraged to submit anything that will add a new perspective to the applicant's profile eg. re-taking the GMAT, re-reading your application to see if you can cover any weak-spots, etc.

Well, I am R2 applicant. Submited 1/15. Sent an updated GMAT score 1/27 (i believe they held off on the review until they got the updated score). I still havent heard anything yet either. NYU seems to def take their time.

R2 applicant, heard nothing after 1/15. I guess they take any time upto the deadline to get back.

Re: Calling all NYU Fall 2010 applicants [#permalink]
Hello,

I am planning on applying to the fall of 2011 program at NYU. I getting a jump start on the application essays.

Can anyone advise on how to approach the 3rd essay regarding the personal expression? I just wanted to knwo what kind of creative ideas were used.

Here is the actual question.
"Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g. words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative."

Thanks!

I am! Have you joined the FB group? There are 73 people, most of whom i assume are planning on accepting the offer. Havent heard of anyone on this board who has made the commitment, although i suspect this number will rise once we get closer to the deposit deadline :)

Awesome!,Yes I have. Is there a separate thread for students matriculating? I've got a ton of questions about housing etc..

Either Solaris1 or myself can field questions either here or on another thread.

What would be useful for waitlist people to know when the payment deadline is. This will be a point in time when the Waitlist is most likely to show some movement.

Has any other R2 applicant heard back this week with an initial notificaiton? I havent heard anything since applying 1/15. Is it certain to expect a ding or a WL w/o interview at some point up unitl April 1 or is there a glimmer of hope as far as getting an interview is concerned?

I personally have contacted people on the Stern Peer Advisory Network who have similar career goals as I do, and asked them all my general questions about the school/housing as well. The three people I have spoken with were incredibly helpful and friendly, and their desire to assist in my transition has convinced me I made the right choice in picking Stern from a personality standpoint. Aside from 3underscore, who didnt return my PM question about the interview process :-P everyone I have talked with at Stern has gone out of their way to help.
