Hi All

I am planning to apply to Round 2 and am having trouble with the Essay3. I am not very happy with what I have so far and am wondering if there is a disadvantage of just writing it up (instead of a presentation or other creative submission) ?
I know they mention on the website that its all the same but want to see what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

Mn2010- I too had a rough time formulating what I wanted to communicate in this essay because I was too focused on creating something super-unique. Don't over-think it! You could do a simple PPT presentation on "the personal you", your hobbies, etc. Perhaps think of a way you could graphically represent what you want to communicate by writing an essay!

Anyone from outside USA and who applied in Round 1 received an interview invite as of today ?

I am kind of skeptical about my chances given that its close to 2 months that the application has been submitted :(

Had my interview today. Very casual and easy going! Same types of questions that everyone else had.First question was about current ec's. Why Mba, Why now, 3 reasons why Stern? Walk me through your resume. Why entrepreneurship (I have my own business)? That was about it, plus a free tshirt.

Hi guys - I was invited to interview a month ago having submitted mid morning on deadline dayand my application went under review a week later. I'm based in Europe so had a long flight over.

Nothing to do now but sit back and wait for the call/email. Really hope I get in. Got some other offers but Stern would definitely be my first choice!

Re: Stern 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
any admitted students care to discuss how they answered the "what other schools are you applying to" question?

Im applying to only higher ranked schools (HBS, Wharton, Columbia), and its going to be plainly obvious that NYU-Stern, despite how awesome the school is, is not my first, or even second choice.

Dont wanna lie and kinda-not-sure if I should leave it blank or just hit em with the truth.

I would probably leave out Columbia at least. Both schools are polls apart in terms of program/culture/students. Visited both schools and decided to drop Columbia.

Honestly it doesn't matter. They collect it for statistical purposes. When they say that it does not affect your admission then I say take them at their word.

While I agree that it does not affect their decision, Stern Adcom is one of the most involved adcom, especially since they conduct all interviews and the interviewer would have thoroughly reviewed your file. Hence, if they have a doubt about your fit with Stern they can definitely ask pertinent questions like "if you get admitted to Columbia and Stern, which will you choose and why?"

It makes sense to fill that part wisely (and thruthfully), be prepared to explain your choices, and convince the adcom that Stern is definitely the top choice.
