Hi Narenn, how did you get the number of people applying in R1 and 2? Is there any way that I can indicate as well?

They are taken from decision tracker. Once you add your username to Oxford decision tracker, your stats too will reflect in the table.

Hello everyone! Although my knowledge is not exhaustive, I'll do my best to answer any questions you post here as a fellow applicant.

For now, don't forget to look out for info sessions in your country! It's the last chance to meet the admissions team and alumni to gain more info about the school and ask them any questions!

Can anybody tell me for which job role do Oil, Gas and Energy companies recruit at Oxford MBA? Do they hire international strudents?

As a recent Oxford MBA graduate, I wanted to share my experience with recruiting at Oxford. There will be a limited number of companies who will come to recruit from the Oil, Gas, and Energy sector. Those that do may come to recruit for rotational programs. For instance, BP has come in the past to share information about its Future Leaders Program.

If you enter Oxford and are passionate about the sector, your recruitment efforts should be self-initiated. You will need to find target companies and reach out to them and apply on your own.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer. I read that the career team not very effective? What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks a lot Rona. Went for the info-session recently and there was one guy that also asked Oxford this question on the competency of the career school.
They said the previous guy left and now the new guy from LBS is making huge changes to the career school.
Side note, I see that you are running a (relatively new?) consultant business for MBA hopefuls like myself!
Wish you all the best in that venture!

As an Oxford alum, are you able to share some experiences there? What were your days like? Which college would you recommend etc.? I think that would greatly benefit whoever reads this thread

I'm submitting my application on Friday! Just waiting on a fee waiver.

Who else is in for R1?

Note to everyone applying: Open the application ASAP - maybe even before you work on your essays. There are about 7-8 career goals short answers hidden in the application form itself with no word/character limits.

Hi, you mentioned a fee waiver. How did you apply for it? I couldn't find any information about it.

If you are part of certain organizations like Forte MBALanuch or Management Leadership for Tomorrow, it qualifies you for a fee waiver.

Hi, I came across this: Please provide information regarding any relevant professional qualifications that you hold including the professional firm or educational institution attended, qualification, subject, year achieved and result.

What is this supposed to be? An in-depth reiteration of CV? How long should it be? Mine is nearing 800 words, CUZ there is no way I know that I can provide all the relevant details of everything in my life in less than that.

I'm applying in R1, so suggestions will be MOST welcome.

Thanks.

Hi friend,

Oh no. Type it in the box in the application. It only allows about a hundred words. It is intended to be a list of scholarships from undergrad, any awards, and professional qualifications like Teaching Credential or CPA. Only that - you do not need to fill it in if you don't have that.

Example:
Teaching Credential - Multi-Subject. Harvard University. 2016. Sigma Cum Laude
Dean's Scholarship (Half Tuition). Brown University. 2012-2015. Cum Laude

The only long questions Oxford asks without a word limit is the Post-MBA section and the Employment section to define your current role. That is where you are going to want to elaborate on your CV.

Hello again!
My referrer recently sent the HBS letter to Oxford's SBS! She has the letter I helped her with for Oxford but she accidentally mixed up HBS and SBS. Does anyone know how SBS takes this? Has this happened to anyone before, with regards SBS? I am very worried! Deadline is in 2 days.

:/

If I were you I’d call them now. Best chance at getting an answer rather than waiting for a reply via email. Got the number for you

Can't you just exempt/exclude the recommendation on the application form and then fill out their details and have them do it again? I see the option to "Exclude" on all my other applications.
