Calling all Tepper Fall 2010 Applicants

I scheduled my interview this morning. I'm timing the trip to be in Pittsburgh at the same time as the Islanders. 10:30 interview, 11:30 tour, 12:30 lunch with current student , 1:30 sit in on a class. Admissions lady was as nice as they come. Really looking forward to it.

I saw an earlier question on whether essays were reviewed. I have a friend who I used to work with who is currently in his second year at Tepper. He took a look at them and gave me a few courses that would be good to name drop. I really tried to customize the essay to the school, and if I know that a specific prof does a segment on CNBC and teaches a specific course that I plan to take, I think it's all fair game.

You can their number, the lady (Carol) is pretty nice and she will be able to help you out with schedulig the interview.

Yesterday I called and left a message and sent a quick follow-up email. I received an email back today before 9:30 am, called shortly thereafter and set everything up. Carol was great. Before 10am, I had booked the interview, flights and hotel, and received a confirm with all the info, hotel recommendations, etc. Really was a breeze.

For those who have been invited to interview, has you application status changed to "Invited to interview" from "Submitted" ?

Last I checked, it just said submitted.

Having a lot of trouble scheduling an interview. Left two voicemails (one Friday, one Monday) and called twice again this morning. Haven't been in touch with anyone in their office yet. Is anyone else having the same difficulty getting through to the Tepper office?

I have also had a lot of trouble reaching the office. After a combination of emails and phone messages, I finally arranged my interview this morning. They must be pretty busy at the office.

That's for sure (how busy the office is). E-mailed and received a nearly-instantaneous response, though. Good tip. Anyone else having any trouble should likewise shoot something over.

I have applied to the FULL TIME MBA program at tepper.

In my essays i have metioned that the option to take courses at HEINZ lends plausibility to my career goals. Can full time MBA students take courses at heinz? I am so f*4ked if this isnt the case

Is it true that tepper doesnt reveal student grades to recruiters? I have referenced this in my essays.

Heinz courses for MBA students shouldn't be an issue. In fact, most if not all of the social entreneurship courses and activities are offered by Heinz. An MBA student would have no choice but to take a social entrepreneurship course at Heinz. Moreover, what MBA program doesn't allow "some" interdisciplinary study? You should be fine.

Thusfar,it seems to me, only US based applicants have received invites.

I think you're looking at a relatively small sample on here. I wouldn't read anything into not receiving an invite yet.

I just got my interview request as well an invitation to a post-Valentine's Day "Women at Tepper" event. I'd have to cancel my dinner reservations to go to Pittsburgh. Can anyone speak to the value of this kind of event? Thanks for your insight.
