Loom - Can you share your interview experience with the rest of the group?

It was pretty rapid fire in my case. Lots of questions, one after another in quick succession, had to think on my feet. It was certainly not a relaxed conversation.

Overall, the questions were pretty standard: Why MBA, why now, example of leadership experience, example of team experience, example of conflict in workplace. No curve balls or hypothetical questions, but be prepared for "spin-off" questions. For example, after talking about my non-profit experience I was then asked to describe the most difficult challenge of being a volunteer.

Hope this helps.

Loom - thank you for sharing your interview experience! It sounds like "conversational" isn't the best way to describe your interview. Was your interviewer strict with timing (exactly 1 hour)?

Do you mind sharing who you interviewed with?

My interview was 30 minutes and I interviewed with an admissions officer.

ryguy904 - can you share with the group which admissions officer you interviewed with? Maybe this can help us provide some insight as to what to expect. :-D

I believe I met with Anastasia Figueroa.

Why MBA
Why Marshall
Tell me about current job
Why'd you leave job X, job y, etc.
What do you do for fun

It lasted 30 minutes. Sadly it was very formal and not terribly conversational.

Wow that's really interesting... I've been reading more and more about how the Marshall interview is not conversational but rather very formal. I was under the impression that this is a "fit" interview but I guess they figure that out in other ways.

Hey MBAL, the honest truth is that I thought it was very superficial in nature. Even though she was an admissions officer, I felt like she was just going through the motions...

In any event, good luck with the interview. Don't stress too much or overprepare. Just know the basics and you'll be set. It'll be done before you know it.

Cheers-

Thanks ryguy904!

It's funny that the more that I look into the Marshall interview the more that I see how unfavorable an impression ppl have of the adcom. I guess it's not their job to make friends...

I definitely wasn't crazy about the adcom. At the same time, there's been similar comments made about UCLA. In any event, I just went to admitted students weekend over the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of people still in limbo, but a really group of admitted students.

Any one else from RD3 who has completed interviews? What was your experience like?

With the start of results being released (April 27th) has anyone heard back?

Yes, there were a ton of undecided folks. I met some people that were waitlisted at Haas, Chicago, Yale, and UCLA. I'm waitlisted at 3 other schools, so I suppose I fit in very well last weekend :)

Good luck to us!

That's really interesting... so they are waiting until near the end of May to release results? My interviewer told me that I can expect my results within 2 and 3 weeks... (about mid-May).

Congrats on the invite! Are you still considering Marshall or have you already made your decision to attend elsewhere?
