now its wait and watch time. All the best to everyone.

First time in many months, I am relatively free and plan to spend it catching up on lots of items and activities.

Re: Calling all Wharton 2008 applicants [#permalink]
I had a somewhat different interview experience and I thought I should definitely share for the round-3ers.

I had my on-campus interview on the 5th March and contrary to everyone else’s experience it was not conversational at all. It was very back and forth and very formal. The interviewer was a very pretty international who was diligently taking notes and keeping an eye on the watch, which of course reduced the eye-contact time. I also felt that it was one of her first interviews and she was a bit nervous. At the same time she was enthusiastic about the questions she had chosen for me. There were no follow-up/clarification/with the flow questions, which again did not allow for much conversation. So I think the experience really depends from person to person even when you go on-campus for the interview.

Some of the questions asked:
Walk me through your resume, focusing on your transitions.
Why is Wharton the right fit for you and vice versa?
What qualities do you bring to a team?
If you were to start your own company, what are the values that you would appreciate and reward your employees for?
Who is a leader, famous or not so famous, that you look up to and why?
Give me two words that your co-workers would use to describe you and why?
Of all the places and people you have worked for, which place or person did you least enjoy working for and why?
What is your short-term goal and how will Wharton prepare you for that?
Are there any weaknesses in your application?

I did get her to share her experience so far with the MBA and Wharton towards the end of the interview when I was asking her questions. That was probably the only conversation we had. That said, I hope she evaluates me well. Good luck everyone!

Iwannabe, I think I had the same interviewer as you. She was pretty formal and like you said, did not ask any followup questions, and even stumbled a bit when asking her questions. With that said, I got pretty much the same spread of questions as you did, and we chatted a bit at the end about her Wharton experience and that was pretty much it.

I talked to some current students who knew her and they did mention that this was her personality. I wouldn't worry too much as she probably kept the interview report pretty subjective. All we can do at this point is wait...

Yes my interviewer was stumbling a bit too, a strong case that it's the same person. I might have actually done fine at the interview.

there is some discussion on BW about someone getting an acceptance call. Seems incorrect information to me though.

Thanks Iwannabe. I have been lurking here for a while but I just had to respond to your message :) Trust me, I thought over the interview a million times afterwards. But I concluded that it probably wasn't as horrible as I thought it was. If she was that stiff then probably all of her interviewees felt awkward about their interviews.

Re: Calling all Wharton 2008 applicants [#permalink]
how many Lauder applicants are here? It would be interesting to find out how many is applying to which track.

I applied to the French track, however, only got an intermediate on the OPI.....which means Lauder is impossible for me i assume.

Is there any way a Lauder app will hurt your Wharton app? Say if your Lauder OPI sucks, or even worse, if Wharton doesn't like your LAuder essays? To be honest I didn't spend nearly as much time as I would've liked on my Lauder app, altho my Wharton essays are decent.

I am a Lauder hopeful, Chinese track. I love everything about the program, and I hope my application is competitive enough for the joint degree program.

Good luck to all Lauder applicants, and I hope we could meet in Philly in May! Gosh, time flies.

cool man (or woman?). I was considering Chinese track, however i think I am too fluent (near-native) for that. From my understanding Lauder wants you to be proficient but not super fluent. So I tried French, which is my 3rd language, but only got an intermediate :(. I guess i'll see what happens.

I hope the Lauder app doesn't screw my Wharton chances.... Lauder reps have insisted that there's no way it would hurt.

wasn't called for Lauder interview :( I assume my OPI was too low.

Altho I was called for a Wharton interview early, which went okay. I think I was in a rather unique situation, as I applied Lauder after the Wharton deadline.

I just checked the wharton online application and the link for the interview invitation is gone (The one where it said your decision is available effective xxxx and then you click and see the invitation to interview).

Anyone else see this ? any idea what it means ?

I'm pretty sure this happened before the R1 decisions as well. I think it just means they're resetting the system for the upcoming decisions (fyi, R1 decisions were released on the planned date, and not earlier).
