Big congrats to nupurgupt, definitely makes the day a whole lot better.

Sorry to all the dings, Wharton definitely lives up to its rep as being a very difficult school to get into.

Congrats nupur, xerox, elhajoui and kalia welcome to Wharton :-D . Hope everyone gets a chance to go to the welcome weekend next month, sorry to hear about the dings guys...Wharton was really harsh this year.

I just talked to a friend of mine who currently is attending Wharton and I have some tips for the WLers (he was WL at R1 then admitted at R2): You need to show love, I know it may sound stupid as it is W, but what he told me is that he felt that they think that you're in at S or HBS and you just don't care about them (BTW, he said that receently GSB is taking more and more people from W 8-) ).

He told me that he send 1 extra Reco Letter, 1 Extra Essay and that he visited the school.

I'm not sure if this would work with everybody, but I thought of sharing his experience.

kwam, thanks for the tip.

Although W has a very strict policy about no new materials at all, and they definitely stress this. They say if you don't obey the rules it will look like bad judgment on your part.

MAybe your friend applied at a time policy is different.
