Hey guys,
Just received an interview invite. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any disadvantage to interviewing off-campus, particularly if you have not visited the school yet.
I am from the Northeast and the trip expense makes me feel that I should just do an off campus interview. That being said, if it would at all improve my chances of admission, I would highly consider sucking it up and making the trip. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Nick

why bummed out? invites just started going out. my application status is still "received", so i know for example that they haven't even looked at my app yet. which means that many others are in the same boat too. don't start worrying for a couple more weeks.

Hear hear. I am also still "received" and not completed. I almost don't want to hear right now anyway. I submitted my last app last night and I am still Burnt.Out. Don't want to start stressing about an interview right away. What do I wear what do I say what do I eat where do I go how do you do who are you who am I?!

Enjoy a couple of weeks away from this madness, friends. There is literally nothing you can do until you get an e-mail -- except make yourself crazy watching other people report back.

thanks reality. so do people get dinged early too, or is it just that everyone who gets dinged without an interview find out on the february 17th date? thx.

For R1, invites went out pretty much everyday...the fact that you didn't receive the invite on the very first day means nothing.

You could perfectly be invited to interview right on the deadline. Until Feb 17th you can get an interview.

Looks like my previous update didn't go though.
I submitted 12/30, received interview invite 01/21. Will interview on campus on 02/08 (first date to interview for R2, I think).

I submitted on 1/6, got an e-mail on 1/20 "Your status has changed to "Complete". Nothing yet about interview. Should I be too worried? I have a Kellogg interview on 2/2. Although, since I got into Kelley, my stress levels came down to normal levels...

Correction: you didn't have a life before, now you have your life back and can resume watching football and drinking beer. Don't let the application process ruin your perspective 8-)

Anyone still with a "received" status?

Don't worry bud, me and a friend of mine are both in "received". Not going to stress out until the 27th.
Go out, have a beer, get some sleep, watch a movie, spend some time with your family - this is the time to catch up on everything we've missed during the application season.

Invited to interview this morning. Yay. First invite, anywhere.

I JUST got back from Chicago interviewing at Kellogg. Didn't get a chance to visit Booth, as much as I wanted to. Think I might opt for off-campus though I'm a bit nervous about not showing my sincere interest in attending... What did others decide?

edit: Decided to fly out there. Located in the north east.
