I haven't heard anything either. Beginning to wonder if I will...but I need to stay positive, right?

Don't lose hope - it's still fairly early in the process, admit decisions aren't until early January, I'm sure many of you will hear soon.

That's true, but it was just a little strange how soon you heard jlola, and then really not much since. Even on the BW forums there is very little chatter. I guess it can be expected since the admissions office seems so unorganized anyway. Also, I was reading up on last year's thread and it took 5-6 weeks for them to hear back for first round interviews. I'll really start to panic around the middle of November, or I'll have already moved on to other things.

i'm flying to LA this weekend, scheduled for this monday. I'll be happy when its done :) . Need to do some more research on the school (clubs, international programs, entrepreneurship, etc etc). I didn't realize it when I applied but the international exchange program actually looks pretty interesting. Not sure if it would interfere with recruiting because its 1st quarter of 2nd year.

Re: Calling UCLA Fall 2009 Applicants [#permalink]
I am doing my interview tomorrow and the way things worked out was kind of a surprise! It turns out the interview is with an alumni I used to work with a few years ago! I let the school know immediately but their response was that it's no problem and it should be that much more of a meaningful conversation since we know eachother.

So needless to say a lot of the pressure is off, although we didnt work together, we did know each other personally. I am definitely taking the interview serious but I know it will be very casual. From what I hear UCLA interviews in general are pretty straight forward and casual. They are looking for....uhhh...PERSONALITY!...Gasp! So I would imagine as long as you know yourself, your resume, your application, you should be fine!

Will let you guys know how it goes.

Well my application finally went Complete, as my second recommender finally submitted hers. Granted it was 20 days late, so I'm not sure what round I'm in. That's frustrating

This is true, but I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it really. I understand how you feel though, not hearing anything is very unnerving. It would be nice if they did it like Chicago does, hand them out in a set time of 2-3 weeks. I think towards the latter part of November I would begin to get nervous if I didn't hear anything. But like I should talk, Chicago started last week and it's been 5 days and I'm nervous that I didn't hear anything - so like I said, totally understand. Hang in there - I'm sure you will hear something!

Just got an interview invite from UCLA!!! I was turning into a wreck, as UCLA is probably the school most closely matched to my interests, and I hadn't heard anything from them. So everyone hang in there, they're still reading the apps.

Re: Calling UCLA Fall 2009 Applicants [#permalink]
Just finished my interview today. I thought it went fairly well, I think its my first business school interview that I enjoyed. I was interviewed by a second year student and the associate director of admissions. Questions were pretty standard:

*Tell me about a challenging time (preferably work related).
*Tell me about a disappointment in your life.
*Why MBA?
*Why now?
*Why Anderson?
*What clubs would you join?
*What positions would you look for internship and graduation (please be very specific)?

I also visited a class when I was there, students were very friendly; and I got a few good luck with your interview. UCLA has moved up a notch in my "list." I might choose it over a higher ranking east coast school, if anything for the friendly people, in-state tuition, and california location.
