Hi All,
I am a Chinese applying to MBA in US this September. Hopefully, I can get admitted by those top schools.
However I have several concerns as follow, it will be very kind if you can give me some evaluation on these.
1. I am working as investment analyst at Mez Fund (current fund size over USD300M, one of the largest mez fund in Japan) investing in LBO debt in Japan. Although it is well known in this industry, I believe very few admission officer knows the name of my company. Will it affect my application considering other applicants are from those big names such as GS, JPM, MS etc.?
2. Connected with the 1st question, I have been working at BIG4 and well known bank prior to the current position. Will it make up my company name shortage?
3. I am a Chinese born and raised in Japan with holding Japan permanent residence. And I plan to continue my career in Japan. Will admission officer pool me as Chinese or Japanese?
Thank you so much for answering my questions!

If you have are from top brands of world, then it's always good, but if you're not, than it doesn't disqualify you. Just display, in your application, your achievements, your growth and your work at the organisation. Display, how you standout. You have equal opportunity, to most of the other candidates.
2. Connected with the 1st question, I have been working at BIG4 and well known bank prior to the current position. Will it make up my company name shortage? If you have worked at Big4, it's a plus ➕ point. Top institutes, prefer candidates from such companies. But for current job, if it's not a big brand, than everything depends on your experience and achievements. Think, how this job add value to you and learning of your batchmates.
3. I am a Chinese born and raised in Japan with holding Japan permanent residence. And I plan to continue my career in Japan. Will admission officer pool me as Chinese or Japanese? I can not answer this question, but you'll definitely get benifit of having being at 2 nationality. What i think is, they'll consider you as Japanese, as you have been raised there and have permanent residency. Do research more on it, or submit a query at respective institutions' websites.
