I'm admitted to a B-School starting starting in April and have a deposit due next week.

I'm still waiting on decisions from 2 other schools, but won't hear back for 3 weeks. Am I able to request early decisions from the adcom to avoid paying the deposit due next week?

Could making such a request result in a negative note on my application?

Do you feel your situation is unique? Do you think you are the only one who applied to multiple schools and may have a deposit looming? That's why there are deposits and certain timelines. No you can't request an early decision and the school knows why you would be requesting one and will deny the request. It won't, most likely, affect your application chances, however; unless you lie or say something unethical, in which case it will be an automatic ding.

BB is spot on - unless you have a unique (and compelling) reason to ask for an early decision (and having a deposit coming up isn't either), you won't get far with that.

However, consider that you're about to invest in a $100K+ MBA. The deposits, while not small change, can be written off. It isn't easy to do, but keep your eye on the ball. If the 2 schools with decisions outstanding are higher on your personal list than the admit you have, then you're going to have to bite the bullet.

Congrats on the admit though!
