Hello everyone,
I took the GMAT 2.5 years ago and scored a 48 on the quant section, which was in the 84th percentile. As I was applying to schools, I reported that percentile as such. Yet, when I received a new score report in the mail recently, I noticed that the percentile dropped to the 80th. I've already had my score reports sent to schools, and there is an obvious discrepancy. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Should I reach out to schools to try to rectify this? Really would appreciate your input.
Nope, nothing you can do about it. It seems that over time the verbal percentile goes up while the quant percentile falls due to more people taking the test that are not native English speakers.
The same thing happened to me, but over a much shorter period of time. I took the test this March and received a Q47/77th percentile. But when I applied in August, the Q47 had fallen to the 76th percentile.
All schools are aware of this trend...no need to contact them.
