Hi. I am software engineer from India and working for one of the fortune 500 client as Quality Analyst. However since my undergraduate school I wanted to pursue an MBA in Luxury Brand Management. However I don't have any experience in this field. But in my college days I was running entrepreneurship club . I was extensively involved in raising funds for managerial and entrepreneurnial events, Organising and managing events and marketing college brand. These skills helped me build my social circle and gave me introduction of marketing field. However after loads of thinking I chose to pursue MBA in Luxury management. Below are the schools I wish to apply:
INSEAD
HEC
SDA
ESSEC
NUS.
Can anyone help me in how I should convince universities for my post MBA plans and my reason to change my field.
I work in Healthcare Management technological Industry. If I don't get any right path of convincing universities for my choice of field , only option I am left with is pursue career in healthcare domain as a Healthcare Business Consultant.
Help here will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance
Chitra,
An MBA is an enabler, its not the end itself. So when you say you have always wished to pursue an MBA in Luxury management, what is the motive behind it? what do you wish to do after the MBA?
Also, how much is your work experience overall? If you have worked for a longer time in an industry, then its more difficult to change careers. Here, I mean the IT industry and not healthcare management, which is probably the domain you are working in.
In your MBA application, you will have to connect the dots between your past experience and future goals. I do not get a clear sense of how would you do this from your post above.
There are some other questions also- what is your GMAT/ GPA? what is your work experience like? How many years of work experience? Why do you want to do an MBA?
