I guess official questions are more than enough. Apart from that gmat club has good collection too

It does not require extensive understanding of new concepts

45. Of the 66 people in a certain auditorium, at most
6 people have their birthdays in any one given month.
Does at least one person in the auditorium have a birthday in January?
(1)
More of the people in the auditorium have their birthday in February than in March.
(2)
Five of the people in the auditorium have their birthday in March.

Can someone explain why the answer to this isn’t E?

12 months in a year. For no birthday to be in Jan, we need all the 66 people to have their birthdays in the other months. In other words, if every month from Feb-Dec, has birthdays of 6 people then NOBODY will have his/her birthday in January. Hence, even if one months from Feb-Dec does not have 6 people then Jan will have at least one birthday

1 - so each month from feb to dec does not have 6 people. Hence, Jam will have one birthday

2 - same as (1)

I believe the asnwer is (D)

Based only question stem, it is possible that no one has a birthday in Jan:
Jan=0 Feb=6 Mar=6 Apr=6 May=6 Jun=6 Jul=6 Aug=6 Sep=6 Oct=6 Nov=6 Dec=6

Based on Statement 1, best case scenario is that 5 people have their birthday in March and 6 in Feb. So, even if there are 6 people with birthdays in all other months, there will still be one person left, whose birthday will have to be in Jan:
Jan=1 Feb=6 Mar=5 Apr=6 May=6 Jun=6 Jul=6 Aug=6 Sep=6 Oct=6 Nov=6 Dec=6

Based on Statement 2, 5 people have their birthday in March. So, even if there are 6 people with birthdays in all other months, there will still be one person left, whose birthday will have to be in Jan:
Jan=1 Feb=6 Mar=5 Apr=6 May=6 Jun=6 Jul=6 Aug=6 Sep=6 Oct=6 Nov=6 Dec=6

Hence, the answer will be D, each statement alone is sufficient to answer the question.

Hope this helps!

But shouldn’t the question then be about the probability of someone having their birthday in Jan? But it says does at least one person actually have their birthday in Jan?

NVM. Missed reading the “at most” bit in the question. The correct answer is D.

Cheers!

Try to pinpoint why your score dropped to Q47. Was it a time crunch, stumbling on specific topics, fatigue, or something else? Tailor your next month’s preparation based on this analysis. Given your already high score, it’s essential to focus on practicing challenging questions under timed conditions. And remember, if you’ve been consistently hitting Q50 in mocks but landed a Q47 on the actual GMAT, factors like test-day nerves or unfamiliarity with the test center could have influenced your performance. So, consider practicing relaxation techniques to manage potential test-day jitters.

the sequence of t is an Arithmetic sequence . if t3*t2= 26 and t1*t4=22 what is d?

Given that the sequence of t is an arithmetic sequence, the terms can be expressed as:
t1, t2 = t1 + d, t3 = t1 + 2d, t4 = t1 + 3d

From the given information, we have:
t3 * t2 = 26
i.e. (t1 + 2d) * (t1 + d) = 26
i.e. t1^2 + 3t1d + 2d^2 = 26
and
t1 * t4 = 22
i.e. t1 * (t1 + 3d) = 22
i.e. t1^2 + 3t1d =22

Using both equations, we get:
22 + 2d^2 = 26
i.e. d^2 = 2
i.e. d = SquareRoot(2)

In any sequence of n nonzero numbers, a pair of consecutive terms with opposite signs represents a sign change. For example, the sequence -2, 3, -4, 5 has three sign changes. Does the sequence of nonzero numbers Si, 52, S3, . . . , S have an even number of sign changes?
(1) Sk = (-1)k for all positive integers k from 1 to n.
(2)
n is odd.

A company has two types of employees: full-time and part-time. The ratio of full-time to part-time employees is 3/5. If 1/4 of the full-time employees and 1/3 of the part-time employees are eligible for a bonus, what fraction of the total number of employees are eligible for a bonus?
