Malar95,I respect your feelings towards Bunuel or any of the club members. I do understand they might get busy at times. But this is not for the first time had happend to me that he didn’t respond to me. Many times he had ignored me general or maths queries. Hope you can understand that how does one feels when their queries get ignored. This club is a community where not only the club members provide their volunteer services even students volunteer. So, thank you my friend for taking your time to respond to me and for your understanding too. Your concern towards the queries is always appreciated.

Write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=−12x+4 and goes through point (0,6)?

If I’m not wrong this is coordinate geometry.

Is it a part of focus edition?

I checked GMAT’s Quant book, the official one and unfortunately Coordinate Geometry is part of the Syllabus. I for one, have yet to practice a Q from it except for my basic HS knowledge.

Kill me.

Malar95
Kill me.
Not literally.

But also, I’ve had similar thoughts/queries too

No

A perpendicular line has a negative reciprocal slope to the given line.

The given line, y=−12x+4, has a slope of −12 , as m is the slope in the standard form equation (y=mx+b).

Slope of perpendicular line: m=2

Point: (0,6)

Using the point slope formula, we can solve for the equation:

y−y1=m(x−x1)

y−6=2(x−0)

y−6=2x

y=2x+6

Yeah but product of slopes of perpendicular lines is m1.m2 = -1

so m1 is -1/12

hence m2 should be 12

I am not sure how you got m as 2

Q: How many positive integers less than 500 have a remainder of 1 when divided by 7 and a remainder of 2 when divided by 3? Options: 20 21 24 26 72
For N<500, let N= dx+r, The divisor d would be the least common multiple of the two divisors 7 and 3, hence d=21 and the remainder r would be the first common integer in the two patterns, hence r=8 So, the general formula based on both pieces of information is total= 21x+8 So there are 24 numbers less than 500 that gives a remainder 8 when divided by 21.

This beautiful concept has been clearly explained by Bunel in this 700 level beautiful question: https://gmatclub.com/gmat-practice-test ... 17566.html

A big salute to all the those who have framed all these beautiful questions in GMAT CLUB Tests. All are super tricky and looks very difficult to solve, until Bunel shows up with 2 step simple solution for that complex looking problem  A tight slap on our face

I really appreciate your efforts and thank you for preparing me and other students for the worst as I am quite sure and hope that GMAT is not going match the difficulty level, which your question seem to be.
