Hey.i have just started my prep.I need some help with data sufficiency questions.I am able to solve the problem solving ques(700+ level) with good accuracy and decent speed but data sufficiency ques are proving to be very difficult

quarterly interest rates will become 5% so if we assume x as an investment then the amount by the end of n quarters will be equal to x * (1.05)^n

for 1st you will directly get the amount x and then after that ((1.05)^3 - (1.05)^2 )*X will give you the interest for 3rd

and in same way for 2nd

What confuses me is, the rate is given 20% per annum but in 1) it’s giving amount after 6 month while the original money is compounded quarterly

So what’s the rate and time to be put in 1’s equation of amount.

6 months means 2 quarters right? So if amount invested is x and n is number of quarters so the amount will become x * (1.05)^2 = 11025. Calculate x then from there you can calculate interest earned for the third quarter.

I mean isnt quarter a 4 month time?

Quarter is 4 months period, is it not?

I think, Two quarter means 8 month
