We have to find if x is negative or not.

(1) |y| is postive => x is positive => equal to |x| sufficient
(2) Also sufficient x=0 or is positive => equal to |x| sufficient

Hi

Whatever be the value of y, |y| will be positive or 0 ..
Say it is least that is 0, so x>0..
And if x>0, x=|x|... So answer will be NO always
Thus sufficient

Hope it helps

is |x|>x ? =>
we need to check if
x= -ve => |x|>x True
x= +ve or 0 => |x| =x

1) x>|y| =>
as value of mod of any number is positive => x is +ve so |x|=x =>|x|> x false
Sufficient

2) x is non-negative integer => x can be 0,1,2,3............ => |x|=x
=> |x|> x false
Sufficient

Answer: D
