Hi

Whatever be the value of y, |y| will be positive or 0 ..
Say it is least that is 0, so x>0..
And if x>0, x=|x|... So answer will be NO always
Thus sufficient

Hope it helps

Option D

Is |X| > X ?

I: X > |Y|
: X is positive.
: Is |X| > X ? NO; Sufficient.

II: X is non-negative.
: X > 0.
: Is |X| > X ? NO; Sufficient.

Re: Is |x| > x ? (1) x > |y| (2) x is a non-negative integer [#permalink]
is |x|>x ? =>
we need to check if
x= -ve => |x|>x True
x= +ve or 0 => |x| =x

1) x>|y| =>
as value of mod of any number is positive => x is +ve so |x|=x =>|x|> x false
Sufficient

2) x is non-negative integer => x can be 0,1,2,3............ => |x|=x
=> |x|> x false
Sufficient
