I did a masters thesis with a professor in the UT Red McCombs school of business. Would it be helpful to get a reco from him? It has been 2.5 yrs since i graduated. I joined a Fortune 500 company after graduation. The other choice i have is to take recommendations from 3 people in the company i work for now. I would appreciate hints and view points.

Go with the professor, only if he/she can present an aspect that can strengthen your application.

Otherwise stick with your professional recommendations.

If I were you I would ask AdCom directly (call/email). My understanding was that most school did not want recs. from professors but maybe your case is diferent. Even so, they may want an optional essay to explain why you choose a non-supervisor as a recomender.
