its clearly between A and C. I choose C over A first for "so........that" reason.

But I later realized that "Climatic shifts are unable to be distinguished" doesnot make sense to me. "they can be indistinguishable" makes more sense.

So A is my choice though it has "so as to", which is less common than "so .......that".

so...as to what follows will always be a verb
so...that what follows will always be a noun

so...as to and so...that are all correct idioms.
The only thing is to know when to use which.
what follows so...as to will always be a verb.
example: The design of the robot is so smart as to satisfy the constraints.

what follows so...that will always be a noun.
example: The design of the robot is so smart that the constraints are satisfied.

thanx for more clearification.

but both idioms are correctly used in terms of what follows what, right?

they are two different idioms..
so..that
so X as to (be) Y

Here A is better than C because C is just mouthful.

We've established that it is either A or C.

C is too wordy "they are unable to be distinguished" when A only uses "indistinguishable"

Basically the same meaning, only A does it in 1 word whereas C uses multiple words.
