Figured I would start this thread so we can share ideas about how we can eventually emerge with an admit!

Looking at previous year's threads, and given rolling admissions, I think we can expect to wait for a very long time (summer). I was actually waitlisted without an interview so eminently confused.

Yikes...

I was thinking that because it is rolling, they'd know sooner rather than later how many applicants they need to pick up from the waitlist. I contrast this with a school with a typical admissions timetable where they probably won't even start looking at the waitlist until after rd 3 decisions are released.

I just assume they don't touch the waitlist until they have gone through all of the RD applicants. Since the deadline for that is technically April 11th or so, and they give a 10 week timeframe to decision, that throws you into June. I suppose if yield is low they will try to lock up people before that.

... I'm much more pessimistic about this whole process than I was 6 months ago.

Yeah, looking back at last year's forum it seems that way. Looks like we're in for a pretty long wait.

Let's make it a point to talk back and forth for the next 4 months, could be fun!

Yeah def! It was interesting to see what people were going through a year ago on the columbia threads and where the ended up. I'm sure there will be waitlisters next year who will be looking here to see what they can glean from this thread.

I see you got waitlisted at Wharton too - it's tortuous enough to be waitlisted at one school that you really want to go to!

Welcome to the party, let's hope our numbers are small and our waiting short.

I figure for NYCers like me, a campus visit is def in order. For intl's though it gets a bit more complicated
