I screwed up. I admit it. I guess I truly was not ready for the GMAT. It may have been the pressure of wanting to get this out of the way and move on with my life. I am not upset... just upset I need to redo this thing. I think traditional approaches of using books is just not working well for me. I used MGMAT guides to study. Overall, I liked them but I think I've done too much studying over the years and just got bored of the process. I believe I need a new innovative approach. I've been thinking of signing up to master GMAT course: https://www.mastergmat.com

I will likely have 4 to 5 weeks of studying before I write again. I'm going to take a week off from studying (I also I have a work contract I need to complete.. I can use the break from studying.

Any ideas anyone? My goal is to up quant into the low to mid 40s and verbal in the mid 30s...

With limited time in hand, I would suggest you to take a GMAT prep test and analyze it properly. Figure out your weak areas and work on them (especially if weak areas are the ones which appear frequently in GMAT like number properties). In Verbal, since CR is strategy based, some effort could take you a long way. Also, make sure you are very comfortable with all SC questions of OG. They repeatedly highlight the most common errors.
Also, GMAT is a game of nerves. So rather than trying to get it out of the way, think of it as another opportunity you have to prove yourself.

To be completely honest, I won't recommend master GMAT. I read a debrief where someone said it was all marketing gimmicks. Stay with the known ones - knewton, MGMAT, veritas etc

How were you doing on those practice tests?
was this score a surprise?

Did you use the OG guide?

Sorry about your GMAT score. However, the good thing about the GMAT is that with proper prep, you can really increase your score. Don't fret my friend! Keep the course and work hard, it'll pay off :)
