Please explain why option B is correct and what is the error in option C ?

Hi shahsuhailp,

Option C changes the intended meaning.

Original sentence:

The original sentence talks about the "increased atmospheric carbon dioxide" and not about "increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere".
