A. unclear that increases in atmospheric CO2 is the result
B. hold
C. CO2 is a result not an ongoing action in this context.
D. singular CO2 does not agree with increase
E. same error as A.

I am oscillating between A and B. Something that happened in the past would result in something in the future. Thus increased is correct. But I feel both A and B sound correct, but from experience most of the times 'as a result of' is wrong....so is it B?
