Wow, app due date of 4/1 and program start 5/6? That leaves almost no time to: interview, wait for decision, give your employer a notice and move to Ithaca.

True - but if someone were serious about the AMBA knowing it began in May he or she would have applied in one of the first 3 rounds. I read the blog post as a way to drum up some Round 4 applicants for AMBA...with ~60 in a given AMBA class, I wonder how many applications they receive.

The new blog post from Christine is interesting. Seems like Cornell had fewer apps this year for the AMBA program. Will be interesting to see if they offers admits to WL applicants for the 1 year program.

If that's the case, it'd be limited only to WL candidates with an advanced degree, CFA, or CPA.

Do you guys think that Cornell will be sending out more R3 invites next week? I am kind of giving up hope already.

Hey rocket, did you get an invite yet? I'm still waiting for one as well. hopefully we will get one by this week..

I got invite to interview yesterday 3:53 PM Eastern Time via email from Heidi.

I was expecting a link to sign up for interview slot but it was done through email response to Heidi.

Seems like it would be tight with the start dates. I was always under the impression the AMBA was for advanced degrees in business (like MS Econ, or M Acc) until I saw people with MS engineering degrees get accepted.

Dont know much about AMBA, but what are the downsides to it (aside from it being a little more rigorous due to compressed schedule)? Seems like you'd save decent change(~50k) and hit the work force a year sooner.

That said, I think I'd buy into it if they gave me an offer (interviewed for 2 year program, but I have an advanced degree)

I think the downside is not having a summer internship, which is important, if you are a career changer. In terms of costs, AMBAs take full load in summer, and the tution for that is $33k, so you only save 20k. But yeah, going back into workforce 9 months early is attractive. _________________ Duke MBA Class of 2016 Manager Joined: 18 Jun 2012 Posts: 145 Concentration: Healthcare, General Management GMAT Date: 09-14-2012 Followers: 1 Kudos [?]: 17 [0], given: 1 Re: Cornell (Johnson) 2013 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink] ### Show Tags 26 Mar 2013, 11:50 hailmary620 wrote: RoyHalladay wrote: Seems like it would be tight with the start dates. Ah, didn't catch that. But you save a little on housing too, so total savings is probably 30-35k. Nothing to sneeze at.

Hi,

I set up the Admitted to Cornell Johnson AMBA Program: Class of 2014 thread so we can discuss about stuff to be prepared as the class seems to be started real soon.

International student from R3 just received my interview invite, what do I make of this? So late in the game? Are they looking for potential waitlists or am I being cynical?

If they invite you, you have a fair chance. Prepare for the interview in the best way you can and don't waste time with noise.
Good luck buddy!!

I'll repeat this again. I was invited to interview the day before R1 decision day, and was accepted. The timing of your interview invite has no bearing on your chance of being admitted. Good Luck!

ah that is so encouraging. I am finishing a major project tomorrow and was secretly hoping to get an invite on Monday (4/1). Hope it happens.

Invited a day before decision day, interviewed a few days after decision day, and found out a few (business) days after that.
