Hello,

i have a couple of application questions:
[*] I am a UT Austin alumni. When I was attending, I did take several courses in the McCombs school. How much will this help/hurt my application?
[*] I am currently working out of state and have an apartment out of state but my "residency" status- drivers license, social security card, etc.- is in Texas (i travel between the two states for work). Do I still declare Texas as my resident state?

Fellow UT applicant here so I can only speak from what my own research through the MBA application has taught me.

Regarding your points:

1) Totally depends, did you ace the classes? How long ago was it? What were the courses? For example if it was recent, a quant course like statistics, and you aced it, that would absolutely be a positive (but wouldn't make or break anything, just show you can handle the curriculum which is a great plus in your application I'd say). However if it was a marketing course 4 years ago with a B then they probably don't really care that much.

2) If you're legally a Texas resident I imagine you need to apply as a texas resident. The tuition is tremendously cheaper for UT in-state vs. out-state compared to any program I've looked at so if you have the ability to apply as a resident I would say you should and be happy you can.
