Did it take Pei more than 2 hours to walk a distance of 10 miles a long a certain trail? ( 1 mile= 1.6 km)

1) Pei walked this distance at an average rate of less than 6.4 km per hour.

2) On average, it took Pei more than 9 minutes per kilometer to walk this distance.

I actually realised while typing why the answer was correct. But it will be nice to see others attempt it.

1. gives us that it took her more than (10/10.24) hours so INSUFF

2. gives us that it took her more than (144/60) hours to do the 10 miles, which is greater than 2. SUFF

B??

If Pei walked at an average of less than 6.2 kp/h then wouldn't he clearly take more than 2 hours to walk 16 kms?

Agree with D
1 says that he walked less than 12.8km within 2 hours --> sufficient
2 says that he took more than 144 minutes to walk 16km (120min is cut off) --> sufficient

St1:
Given speed, given distance, can find the time and answer the question. Sufficient.

St2:
10 miles = 16 km.

Took Pei more then 9min/km

If she took 9 min/km, she would take 2.4 hours. Since she is travelling slower than 9 min/km, she would take longer than 2 hours. Sufficient.

Ans D
