Stat 1 does not provide any information about percent of students aspiring for the course so not suff.

Stat 2 We see that both the percent for aspiring girls and boys is greater than 20% so the answer will be yes. Sufficient
B is the correct choice.

Statement 1:
No information about aspire of students. So not sufficient.
Statement 2:
30% Male student aspire
22% female student aspire
Weighted average must be at least 20%.
Sufficient to answer the question.

IMO B.

Statement 1:
Male: Female = 5:7
Clearly insufficient - AD/BCE

Statement 2:
30% of male and 22% of female students aspire to do Master's.
Pick a smart number - I took 330
30/100 x 330 = 99
22/100 x 330 = 72.6
Together 99 + 72.6 = 171.6

20/100 x 330 = 66 and we got 171.6. Hence it's greater than 20%

B is the answer

Thank you

but the questions states that 30% of male and 22% of female students aspire to do Master's.

Did you assume that 330 is the number of male students as well as female students?

Or did you assume the number of male & female students to be equal at 330 each?
B is the answer

correct me if I am wrong but by 30/100 x 330 = 99 you are assuming that 30% of 330 are male. But the questions does not say that. Same for Women.

I have the same doubt as above. Doesn't the question say of the total number of students, 30% of Males...How do we express this algebraically? Thanks,
