I know at Kellogg, current students hold a voting position on the AdCom and review applications.

They do at Darden. I also recall interviewing with a current student at UCLA, though I'm not sure if they evaluate applications.

I know they don't at Harvard. It's staff only.

Harvard has by far the largest adcom staff (almost 20 FT from what I've read). I don't think they use students in any part of the admissions process.

Until last year, one could get a letter from a current student in addition to 3 recos. I read on the admission director's blog that they are going to "officially discourage" this policy in the next admission cycle because this is unfair to people who are not lucky enough to have acquaintances at HBS. Better late than never.

HBS receives over 7,000+ apps per year.

But at any given time they aren't trying to replace half of them; and even though I don't know what company you are talking about, I'd bet many of the roles have limited recruitment procedures (doesn't take as much effort to hire a janitor as it does a VP).

I agree though, 20 full time adcoms is a lot.

Stanford does EVERYTHING with its staff, no student involvement. Alums do all the interviews.

Berkeley has student interviews, but the adcom does all the decision making and essay reading, as far as I know.
