Do j and k yield the same remainder when divided by 24?

(1) When j and k are divided by 8 , they yield the same remainder.
(2) When j and k are divided by 4.5, the difference of their quotients is an even integer.

1. if j = 10, and k = 18, reminder is 2 if j and k are divided by 8.
2. similarly, when j = 10, and k = 18 are divided by 4.5, the respective quotionts are 2 and 4 and their diff is 2.

we can use j = 12 and k=36 to satisfy the st 1 and 2. so should be E.

1) Not suff.
J can be 26 and K can be 34.... divided by 8 both give the same remainder but not when divided by 24

2) not suff.

This basically means that the both quotients can be even or odd at the same time.

Many possibilities exist.

Together not Suff
