Doctors say that frequent headaches and migraines are between the most common childhood health complaints, yet this problem gets surprisingly little attention from the medical community.

A. are between the most common childhood health complaints, yet this problem gets surprisingly little attention from "between" incorrect.

B. are among the most common childhood health complaints, and this problem gets surprisingly little attention from We need a contrast such as "yet"; "and" doesnt bring in that contrast

C. are among the most common childhood health complaints, yet this problem gets surprisingly little attention from Correct. "among", "yet", correct tense (simple present) fora rule.

D. are among the most common childhood health complaints, yet this problem is getting surprisingly little attention of"is getting" present continuo, looks awkward here."attention from" is correct here

E. are among the most common childhood health complaints, this problem getting surprisingly little attention from No connector. Run on. "getting" is not a bonafide verb. The part after the comma hence looks as if it is an adverbial modifier of the first part.

I need a clarification here. Migraines and headaches are 2 problems. So in the last clause, shouldn't it be "these problems"?

Although I feel the sentence is unclear, what I could make out is it refers to the complain of migraines and headaches in the second part. Headaches and migraines are common but they form a single problem.
Anyways, as long as you can find a better solution (than others) on SC, you are fine. Sometimes, it is used as ploy. Students keep on checking for this error and waste time when they should rather select best and move on

among is used for more than two but in this case it is using plurals of two . So is among useful here ?

This is a bit of misinterpretation of the rule — when we should use among vs. between is decided by the noun after among/between. So both of the following would be true: "We split the cookies between the two of us" and "We split the cookies among the three of us". It doesn't matter how many cookies are being split — only the number of people they are being split among/between affects which word we use.

Here, "frequent headaches and migraines are among the most common childhood health complaints". So "complaints" is the noun that decides whether we should use among vs. between. We know from the sentence that headaches and migraines only make up some of the complaints, so there must be more than two complaints. Thus, we should use among instead of between.
