So correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that there had been three official GMAT prep software programs.

1) April 2012--GMAT prep version 2
2) pre-April 2012--GMAT prep version 1
3) before GMAT prep version 1--power prep or something like that

My question is do all three of these programs have different CATs? Also, if version 1 and 2 do in fact have different exams, where can I get version 1?

Its actually 4 including the latest one. You can find more details about the old ones here. Same link for downloading them.

For the latest, you can get it from mba.com.

There is not huge difference in the question bank, 90% of the questions will be common, but you can find some new questions every time you repeat the tests. If you haven't taken any GMATPrep tests so far then use the old version test two times and the new version two times. 8 tests are more than enough. Repeat test scores will be inflated.
