Does the value of x remain unchanged when rounded to the tenths place?

Let the number be ab.rst

(1) The value of x remains unchanged when rounded to the hundredths place.
So the number remains ab.rst remains ab.rst...
Possible only when ththiusandths place is 0..
So number is ab.rt0, but we cannot say anything about the value of r..
Say number is 23.00, it does not change
But if number is 23.15, it will become 23.2..yes it changes..
Insufficient

(2) The value of x remains unchanged when rounded to the units place.
So the number has to have 0s in decimals, that is number is ab.0000
So when you round to tenths it will still not change..
Sufficient

Hi chetan2u

In statment 2, can a number be for example 24.01? does the number satisfy ST 2?

No, it will not..
X is 24.01.. so when rounded to tenths, it is 24.0 so it is being changed..
And x rounded to units will be 24, so 24.01 does not satisfy the statement II
