The correct answer is B. The right form of the word is so-called not "called so". Hence D and C can be eliminated.

A has a modifier error by wrongly bringing " on November 5" which is intended to modify the verb "was imprisoned" before it. Similar error occurs in option E. Hence A and E can also be eliminated.

option c and d are unidiomatic. So-called is right.
For option a b and e. Both a and e wrongly place on November 5 between the Subject and the Verb.
