For 48 miles we need 60 minutes

For 1 mile we need 60 /48 minutes

For 32 miles we need (60/48)*32 minutes

= 40 minutes

The best answer is C.

I. Distance/rate= time

Rate: $$\frac{48mi}{1hr}=\frac{48mi}{60 mins}=\frac{4mi}{5mins}$$

TIME needed to drive 32 miles ($$\frac{D}{r} = t$$):
$$\frac{32}{(\frac{4}{5})}=(32*\frac{5}{4})=40$$ minutes

II. Proportion

Rate in minutes:
$$\frac{48mi}{1hr}*\frac{1hr}{60mins}=\frac{48mi}{60mins}=\frac{4mi}{5mins}$$

TIME needed to drive 32 miles?
$$\frac{4mi}{5mins}=\frac{32mi}{T minutes}$$
$$4T=(5*32)$$

$$T=40$$ minutes

48 miles -- 1 hour
32 miles -- x hour

x=$$\frac{32}{48}$$=$$\frac{2}{3}$$ Hour
$$\frac{2}{3}$$ Hour --> $$\frac{2}{3}$$*60=40 minutes

IMO
Ans: C
