What is the value of x+y?

(1) x=y-3

(2) (2x+3)^2 =36

I don't have the OA so wanted to check if i got the correct answer.

(1) INSUFF

(2) x = 3/2 or x = -9/2. but still nothing given on y? so INSUFF

Combined (1) & (2), still INSUFF. So my answer is E.
