What was the total distance, in miles from Maria's starting point to her destination?

Thanks Hussain, the trap is if we over look reading "remaining distance" in the statement we will end up with 480 as answer.

Easy 320 is the answer.

3/4 ( x/2) = 120
x = 120 * 8 /3 = 320.

1x/2 + (1/4)(1x/2) = 5x/8 = total distance traveled so far
remaining distance = 3x/8 = 120 => x = 320 kms

Remaining distance after second stop = 3/4 *(x/2) = 120

Solving for X = 320

Option B.
