During a certain season, a team won 80% of its first 100 games and 50 percent of its remaining games. If the team won 70% of its games for the entire season, what was the total number of games that the team played?

a) 180
b) 170
c) 156
d) 150
e) 105

Let team had x total games. So team won .7x games
Also team won 80% of first 100 which 80 and 50% of x-100 games which is (x-100)/2
so 80 + (x-100)/2 = .7x which gives z as 150..

remaining game = x
total = 100 + x

80% (100) + 50% (x) = 70% (100 + x)
x = 50
so total = 150
