Let initial Price = p

Lowered price by 20% = 0.8 p

Further lowered by 10%, price = 0.9*0.8p = 0.72p

Single equivalent discount = p-0.72p = 0.28p i.e. 28%

Answer: Option D

Assuming original price of garment be 100
Lowered price by 20% which gives 80 as new price
Now, further lowered by 10%, making new price be 72
There should be a discount of 28% on 100 ( orginal price ) so that new price is 72

D is the answer
