The number of employees will be either N+10 or N-6.
$$(N+10)*3$$ and $$(N-6)*5$$, i.e, N+30 and N-30, resulting in N.

So 8 audit took place

Could you please explain why you did $$(N+10)*3$$ and m](N-6)*5[/m]?

Suppose total minimum x+y audit happened.

hence employee hired = 10*x
employee fired = 6*y
but at the end no employee changed. Mean what was the number of employee at starting of audit is same after end of audit.

so, 10x = 6y---> 5x = 3y so ratio of x:y = 3:5
and minimum number of audit = x+y = 3+5 = 8
