Each employee on a certain task force is either a manager or a director. What percent of employees in the task force are directors?

1) the average salary of the managers in the task force is $5000 less than the average salary of all employees in task force. 2) the average salary of the directors in the task force is$15000 more than the average salary of all employees in task force.

Seems too obviously easy to be E. E is the default trap answer that ETS wants us to choose. Working backwards, and using a little reverse psychological intuition, I think the answer is C.

C)...we are looking for d/(d+m) ?

average salary of all employers is a. m for manager. d for directors.

2) a+15000. same as above.insuff

1)+2) (m(a-5000)+d(a+15000))/m+d=a...ma-5000m+da+15000d=ma+da...
15000d=5000m...3d=m...suff

Ah, I see it. I misread the Q and thought (1) was 5000 less than average director's salary.

1. average salary of all employess is A
2. percentage of directores is D
3. from 1: (A-5000)*(100-D)
4. from 2: (A+15000)*D
5. combining 1 and 2 statement: 100A=(A-5000)*(100-D) + (A+15000)*D
6. D=25
7. OA is C
