it is between "B" and "E". I choose "B" on this.

noise and air pollution have outweighted the attractiveness of the the area and now out-of-towners are keeping away from visting the place.

paul, if i have mistaken somewhere please explain your point.

thanks,
Dharmin

This is a great CR. A, B, C and E all looks good.

I think I will look for the key words..'Challenging' in 2 options, 'Miantaining', 'Denying'. 'Claiming'.

Surely Maintaining and Claiming is out. 'Challenging' and 'Denying' remain- A, B and E.

A - Challenging an assumption that certain desirable outcome can derive from only one set of circumstances - Other circumstances are not discussed. Gets out of scope.

B - establishes that what the businessman spoke is actually a assumption, and proofs it by stating that out of towners such as skiers are actually not coming in AND that the economy boost does not outweigh the pollution.

E - gets out of scope because it simply doubts whether the economy is really getting benefited are not.

B for me.

, guys new kid on the block making his first post....

i'll go with B..

the environmentalist counters the assumption of the spokesperson that the visitors come because of snowmobile. however, there is a negetive side to this (pollution restricting the visits of skiers) which the spokesperson has ignored.

'B' for me.

Challenging an assumption(i.e Snowmobiling brings financial benefit) that certain desirable outcome(i.e.financial benefit) is outweighed by negative aspects(i.e skiers are kept away) associated with producing that outcome
