A.

1: intercept is 1.
2: seems the question is not designed properly. if x = y, then b can not be different from 0.

Fistail, can u please explain why b can not be anything else but zero?
Line with slope -1 can have any value of b, wich is why 2nd statement is insuff.

A.

(1) x intercept: x = -b/a
y intercept: y=b
They are equal, this means -b/a = b
a = -1
SUFFICIENT

(2) INSUFFICIENT

St1:
x-intercept = -b/a
y-intercept = b

So b = -b/a --> only if a = -1. But b can be any value. So the equation will be y=-x+b. Slope = -1. Sufficient.

St2:
y can be anything. Insufficient.

Ans A

Line with slope -1 can have any value of b, wich is why 2nd statement is insuff.

Since Y = ax + b and x = y, b should be 0. if not then x cannot be equal to y.
