Hi all,
Please help me review my ESR and give me some advice on verbal preparation. This is my 2nd attempt (560 Q47 V21) after the first (540 Q44 V21).
I'm not an English native speaker. My self-study materials are
OG,
Mgmat SC, Thursday with Ron videos, and I took online courses of Quant in my country. My preparation time for gmat has been 7 months.
I did
Mgmat CAT exams, and my verbal score was around 26~30.
My goal is to reach above 680 in two to three months. I know I have to be more dedicated and make a demanding study plan. I would be very grateful if there are some experts or adepts could give me some directions.
Thank you!
Hi
austen888,
Here is the review and some tips:
Quant: 1. It seems that You get stuck on a question and battle it for a longer time than required. In every set the average time spent on wrong questions is higher, even when the accuracy is good (see first 3 sets). So you need to learn to move on if a question is taking more time.
2. I think Quant requires more practice in order to learn new ways to solve questions quickly.
Tips: Follow Bunuel's explanations to learn to solve questions with easier methods. Solve newly posted questions everyday by Bunuel.
Do GmatClub quant CATs.
MGMAT quant questions are also very good.
Learn the Traps.
Learn the sense of time. You should be able to feel that you have spent 2 minutes on a question. This would come with practice.
Verbal:1. You did not get to attempt higher level difficulty questions and hence you got MANY medium level difficulty questions wrong.
2. Accuracy in the start took its toll. and it did not improve till the last set and that too not really well.
3. You donly were left with 43 sec per question for the last set but still got good accuracy. so either the questions were really easy or you got lucky on couple of guesses
Tips: MGMAT RC,CR & SC guides are all very good.
Learn concepts, practice, REVISE-REVISE-REVISE and do CATs following a study plan.

Number of experimental questions in every set are as follows:
Quant---- 2|9....2|9......2|9.....3|10
Verbal----2|10...3|10....3|10....3|11All the best. Feel free to ask any followup question
