Is there any format when uploading essays? For example, the title, the font&size, the space, or sth? Or we just upload the essay without special format?

Thank you!

Schools usually have their own preference. The ones I'm applying to have recommended double spacing.

The problem is some of the schools do not mention that anywhere... Which format should I use? MSU limits the first essay to be "750 words max or 2 pages", that could not be double spacing, because 750 words and double spacing would make the passage more than three pages...

You may be overthinking this. There are no hard and fast rules. Each school will have it's own directions. If there are no specific directions in terms of font, spacing, and headers then simply place your name and the essay # and question at the top or bottom of each page of the essay and upload as directed.

Ok, thank you. Now I'll not worry about that.

Re: essay format [#permalink]
I am in the process of submitting the application to the school. They have asked for only 1 essay and haven't specified the word limit or length of the essay. Also, there are no guidelines for writing it such as, spacing, margins, headers or footers.

Could someone please help what formatting rules, specially the headers and footers ,shall i follow to write the essay.

Can someone please help. Do we need to add anything in the header and footer in the essay or we just need to submit the word document without it?

To be neat, add number page in footer and your first and family names in the header. Try to include the prompt question and number, unless other instructions state.

If nothing is specified than you can choose our own format. I prefer times new roman size 12 double spaced.
