I believe what the question was looking for is: beyond direct responsibilities, what roles do you serve within your professional and personal networks? When people need your assistance, or a favor, what is that they ask of you?

For instance. if you're in accounting, colleagues may look to your for advice on depreciation or taxation. Conversely, your family and friends probably seek your assistance in completely different areas: maybe you are a great mechanic, or good with computers, or perhaps they also seek accounting advice.

I would use this question to demonstrate how you facilitate the success of others and the impact that you have in your relationships. In doing this, I am confident that it will become more clear on how these people perceive you (Part 2). Do people perceive you as a team player and a leader? (Ideally they do, because those seem to be areas of importance to admissions staff)

I hope that this helps clarify a bit. Good luck!

This essay gives you the chance to showcase the areas where you excel in relative to your peers, and also show your personality, character traits, and how you interact with groups. It will be an opportunity for you to show how you would fit with your group, and what you can contribute to the experience of your peers at the program.
